( as it is written, ” I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed- God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Who contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he becomes the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendant be” (Rom.4:17-18 NKJV).

Biblical faith is a product of contrary hope – the facts and realities of life that makes things humanly impossible, and the truth of the Word of God – in hope: in the expectation that God would fulfil His promises. An assurance that strengthens the faith that what is written in God’s word is superior to one’s present challenges and circumstances.

The circumstances that posed a threat to Abraham was the fact that his body was dead at about a hundred years old, and Sarah had passed the age of giving birth due to the deadness of her womb. But Abraham believed God, he was not weak in faith due to the fact of his circumstances and that of Sarah. Vs 19

Contrary to hope, in hope he believed, by faith he recognises his problem exists, (I guess he was concerned too, for he yielded to Sarah’s counsel concerning Hagai) he by faith presented his case to God, in all these, he acknowledged God by declaring the potency and truth of His word against the facts of his life.

Friends, I don’t know what your challenges are? All I know is that the God we serve is not partial, if he could do it for Abraham, he will surely do it for you. What the doctors say are facts and realities of life, but, whose report will you believe

Abraham leveraged on the written word, he was not weak in faith, nor consider the facts and realities of life challenges. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelieve but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, And being fully convinced that what He had promised He was able to perform (Rom.4:20-21 NKJV).

If Abraham’s blessings are for you, then his faith too must be for you. Faith does not deny the fact that sickness is in the body, nor deny the fact that there is financial need, but, as faithful sons of God hold on to the truth in His word, acknowledge Jesus’ ability to meet those needs.

Let us pray: Father I receive the truth of Your word, strengthen my faith to believe and give less consideration to the facts and realities of life, but to hold on to what you have written concerning me. May I contrary to hope, in hope believe you for actualization of what is written concerning me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
