Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end (Psa.119:33).

The psalmist requested for the way of the statutes of the Lord. The way describes the will of God as
a path when we request for His leading, the Lord gives us a distinctive sure leading according to His plans and purpose for our lives.

He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. (Prov.2:8 NKJV). This enables us to distinctively choose the right path, we shall not go the other way that leads to destruction.  (Matt.7:13-14). The word statutes, commandments, rules are often used interchangeably, they are anything that defines God  as we read in the Bible (See Deut.6:1-9).

Friends, as you look to the future and decide upon the direction of your life, what will be your guiding road map on your journey of life? Will you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and might as to follow Him?

  • Will you listen to His voice and His commandments?
  • Will you seek Him and focus on His leading?
  • Will you walk in His ways?
  • Will you obey God’s law, His testimonies, and righteous rules?
  • These are the statutes of the Lord,
  • Will you trust God’s Holy Word and use it as an indispensable tool to guide your steps?
  • Or Will you choose a different map to guide you?

Remember there are two main roads- one is broad and many are being led there by their thoughts and philosophy of man, this road leads to eternity in hell, while the narrow road led by the statutes of the Lord leads to eternal life in heaven but few navigates this road.
(See Matt.7: 13-14)

The map you choose will determine the quality of your journey and its ultimate destination.

Read your Bible pray every day. The Bible is the ultimate guide for life; in it, we mirror our lives if we make it our daily mirror and guidebook as well.

The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes (Psa.19:8 NIV).

Andrew Murray said,” Some read the Bible to learn and some read the Bible to hear from heaven.”

The Bible was not given for head knowledge, to puff off, but to change our lives as we navigate through this world, guiding us as a roadmap towards our eternal destination.

Let us Pray: Lord teach me the way of your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end by your enabling grace. In Jesus Name, Amen.
